PERSONAL APOSTASY

Sometimes you think that all is well, doing just fine,
Being a good Christian, doing not our will but thine,
Yet do we follow in His footsteps every single day?
Or in little things do we in some ways go astray?

Say in our hearts, that does not really mean me,
Unfortunately that is the start of dark apostasy,
I don’t have to forgive him, what he did was cruel,
Do we forget, forgive others! That’s the golden rule.

If we hold a grudge, let it seep deep into our heart,
Forget the poor, with our riches not wanting to part,
Is this not apostasy? For we are not living God’s law,
Yet we pray and worship and say God we adore!

Live and love the gospel, shun apostasy far away,
Do good, remember the Saviour through the day,
Do not let darkness cover the pure truth and light,
Show the way by living the gospel with all your might.

For if you fall away, are not prepared, lose the light,
How can you in your full strength fight the good fight,
Listen and obey, stay true to Christ all your life through
So Satan cannot, through apostasy, ever take hold you.
