BE THOU HUMBLE
Of all the gifts of God this is the one I need the most,
One I strive for daily, but yet though, I cannot boast,
For I feel it takes a lifetime this gift finally to gain,
You need it to reach the celestial kingdom that is plain.
When I think of the Saviour, with His pure humility,
He is the perfect example to be followed by me.
He taught to turn the other cheek, when hit in the face,
Not want the last word and so learn to gain His grace.
To always do the Fathers will no matter how you feel,
Though you may be hurt, another first you try and heal.
Humility take a character that will not ever yield
To any proud temptation, but the sword of truth wield.
Help me to be humble, Then you will lead me by the hand
And guide me with my loved ones to the promised land.
