DISMAL THOUGHTS
Sometimes the world seems dark and drear ,
even when the sun shines bright,
It is as though some skulking darkness
has stolen my inner glimmering light.
Yet the flame still flickers, albeit rather dim,
I will not let the darkness conquer me,
For darkness cannot enter far in a room of light,
for true light cannot overpowered be.
So go away dismal thoughts and clouds of grey,
depart, and leave me my sad heart,
For there is so much to praise God for every day,
so I say again deep darkness, depart.
There, see all the dark clouds are rolling away,
so I hope my light will still shine
Bright with hope and loving, shine better than before,
so a joyous heart once again is mine.
