MORE THAN BEING QUIET
Reverence is more than being quiet or sitting still,
Its thinking about the Saviour, wanting to do His will,
Its listening and taking heed of what is being said,
There maybe a message on which you will be fed.
Reverence is remembering Christs sacrifice divine,
Dwelling on His suffering for your soul and mine,
Thinking about the sacrament prayer with bowed head,
Try and imagine His broken body as you take the bread.
Then follows the water, His blood spilt for you and me,
Carrying His heavy cross, falling on the road to Calvary,
Reverence is true gratitude deep in my heart of sin,
Praying for forgiveness and letting Him enter in.
Reverence is caring for those who are all around,
Being a good example is where true reverence is found,
Reverence comes with hearts full of songs of praise,
Sing hymns of rejoicing, thinking of Him as voices we raise.
Reverence is more than being quiet, more that sitting still,
More than silently contemplating, it is doing Gods will,
It is more than just on Sundays, its every day of the week,
Make reverence a way of life, and Gods wisdom always seek.
