BAPTISM
We cannot progress along the steep path that leads to eternity
Without baptism being performed by those with the authority.
Jesus Himself showed us the way, though he was without sin,
Being an example, He knew it was the only way to enter in.
To enter into God’s kingdom, repent and show you care,
Keep the baptismal covenants, always be willing to share
The burdens of your fellow men, to keep that covenant true,
But there is one other thing that all of us can do.
Seek out those long departed that did not know the light,
Go into the waters of baptism, save their lonely plight,
For they can only progress from grace to noble grace
With your help, put a spiritual smile on a dead one’s face.
They need that sacred ordinance to help them on their way,
If you do that work for them, they will thank-you one day,
Then think of the joy you’ll share with those you set free
From the bonds of darkness, by being baptised, they see.
