WHAT WILL IT BE LIKE

I wonder what it will be like in heaven up above?
I know we’ll sing like angels in harmony and love.
Will streets be paved with gold, the gates pearly white?
Will we be able to live with God and share His light?

Will there be gardens with flowers pure and fair?
Will their sweet fragrance fill the heavenly air?
Will we want to gather them to make a bouquet,
Or be content to let them in God’s garden stay?

How bright will be the sunrise as the sun goes it’s way?
How glorious the sunset at the end of heaven’s day?
Will there be warm, gentle rain when the day is done?
Will the rainbow arch the sky when the sun does come?

I know I’ll meet my loved ones who have gone ahead,
Think of the time we’ll share, the things that will be said,
I know we’ll preach to those who knew not His way
When they were on earth in darkness, teach them to obey.

What colours will be there? will the all the birds sing?
Can I ride a horse like I did when a child in the spring?
Will there be trees tall and majestic in many shades of green?
And how many of Gods earthly creatures will there be seen?

No one I know has come back to tell us what is like in heaven,
But I know it will be glorious and many gifts be given,
So I’ll strive my life to live so one day I may see inside,
Then if I do make it there, my joy I will not hide.
