FORTY YEARS OF TRUTH

Forty years along the path of truth we have trod,
Taking the road shown to lead us back to God,
The path was not always easy, sometimes steep,
But there were times when into heaven we’d peep.

Forty years of learning, forty years of steady growth,
Forty years of knowing that God loves us both,
However can we thank those who the truth did give
To a small family, the gospel quite willing to live.

Thank-you is not enough our gratitude to show,
For the sacrifice of those who loved the gospel, so
That they trudged the streets and were rejected,
Sometimes they were hungry when they went to bed.

If we serve the dear Lord and do our very best,
Try to spread the gospel, surely that is a test
Of showing gratitude and telling of it’s truth,
Make it back to heaven, that will be living proof.
