LESSONS WE NEED TO LEARN

Winding our way along life’s path, we should learn
The lessons set forth so our eternal salvation to earn,
Do we avoid them as we travel thinking them naught,
Or gain wisdom and knowledge so evil may be fought?
Or find a short cut, instead of gentle patience gain.
The Lord gives us learning moments, again and again.
Yet if we have ‘a know it all’ attitude, we pass chances by
That will teach us the values to be with Him on high,
Will we grow? No. What then will be our final aim?
The path’s not easy, learn truths and so light the flame
That will show the way that Father has set each child.
So we can return to with Him as we learn to be mild,
Let us learn all we can of the things of celestial worth
As we travel our appointed path on this fabulous earth.
Learn love, learn to care, do what Jesus would do each day,
Learn from the scriptures, learn how to really pray.
Learn of nature, learn how much you are loved by God above,
Learn all you can from those who know and teach with love.
