SINGING IN THE CHOIR
Just ordinary voices lifted up in Gods praise,
Singing some simple hymn their joy to raise,
Bringing to the meeting His sweet spirit from above,
As many choir sing their anthems of grateful love.
Come and join the choir, let the anthems swell,
Let each tender heart be touched, a loving tale to tell
Songs of praise and thanksgiving, songs that rejoice,
Come join the choir and add to it your small voice.
A choir can bring reverence and gentle peace,
Can invite the spirit, telling His love will never cease,
It can bring a tear of gentle joy to a stern heart,
You may never know what good you do impart.
The song of the righteous is a prayer unto me,
If sung by a choir in sweet loving harmony
It can reach the rafters of heaven so they ring,
As the angels will join in, how sweet they sing.
That sound will enter into those folks there that day,
When the choir sings and angels come their way,
And with wetted eyes ordinary voices can sound
Worthy of a hymn that is heavenward bound.
