WRESTLING
When I was much younger
a few years ago,
Sometimes of to wrestling
I used to go.
Greco-Roman style with rules
and regulations,
Good sportsman ship was the
rule not an exception.
The men shook hand and broke
grips when ordered,
Very few fouls were seen
fewer recorded.
Fit men of honour who fought
an honourable game
You must admit wrestling today
is not quite the same.
Men tough men who fool about
break every rule
Even beat up on the ref, make
him look the fool.
They use chairs and tables,
gauge eyes too
To me they have no style,
good men are few.
It is no longer a sport to me
but bad entertainment
Although you cant help smiling
at the treatment,
It must all be put on or off
or to prison theyd be sent.
I feel that if I watch for awhile
I would need to repent.
But sometimes a fight comes when
the good guy may win,
So then I go and watch it and
put up with the din.
