COMPOSERS
With some music you may stop and say,
Is that Mozart or Hyden they do play?
But not with Beethoven every note
Is his alone, every stanza will denote
It to be Beethoven with a big capital B,
Every swing of the baton that you see,
Both loud and quiet, slow or very fast
Is not confused with those present or past.
Beethoven style and mood change you feel
Almost pray that his deafness will heal,
So he too may enjoy not only in his mind,
But hear those tones and that melody find
That caresses the senses, enlightens the soul,
Hear his own music help him become whole.
For as you listen even his quiet music part
There seems to be pain that touches the heart.
I love all good music, favourite composers many,
But in very few pieces of music sweet, if any,
Plead as does Beethoven, for notes beg to be heard
As plainly as if it were many a loud spoken word.
