OUR POETRY READING NIGHT
There were about fifty that came out to hear us read,
There was a touch of apprehension we both agreed,
The music of the Kolts soothed each fast beating heart,
So when we started we felt we could do our small part,
The Lord was with us as we helped people laugh and cry,
Poems about Flin Flon, nature and good people we go by,
The friends we have made, talked of Gods love to all,
Read about birds, how they gracefully swoop and fall.
Many friends gathered around who came to cheer us on,
They said they enjoyed themselves when it was all done,
All clapped and cheered and made us feel their love
I hope the Lord was also pleased as he listened above.
Thank you to the staff in the library who stayed quite late,
And thank you Flin Flon that you my poetry did appreciate,
And the love and warmth that flows from those who reside
In the city built on the rocks, and their kindness never hide.
