LONG ENOUGH
Will I live long enough for all the poems to come out
That are stored in my heart and mind all scattered about?
All the ones about my Saviour that dwell deep within,
And those poems that help overcome temptation and sin.
Then there are the ones about nature that I need to tell,
Of all the creatures I love that on the earth do dwell,
Of more sunsets over other rippling or smooth lake,
Or the glory of the rising sun as a new day does awake.
What of the feelings of joy that the truth gives to me,
Poems about the promise of a loving eternal family.
I must tell again the feeling each Christmas brings
Or the sheer joy that is found in all the little things.
Not to mention the humour that makes me laugh at night,
The poems that comes that helps a sad soul feel alright.
Then as my mind was still busy a thought came to me,
Maybe this talent will be with me though all eternity.
Perhaps the spirit children placed in our care above
Will have this gift and so spread more light and love,
Be endowed with the gifts we have developed on earth,
Ill just keep on writing, for talents are of eternal worth.
