SONNETT NO3 - THE GIFT OF AUTUMN

Oh autumn, filled with priceless treasures beyond compare.
Waving fields of wheat and fruit full ripened to the core.
Good food for all in plenty, and many flowers truly fair
And in some wild symphony of colour celebrate before
Winters white snow blanket protects this land from harm.
What glories meet the eye down some lonely country lane
As autumn displays her vivid colours in these days of calm.
Her colours shout don't mourn for me, look, there is no pain
In death, for I shall come again to grace this beauteous land,
To please the eye,the heart, the soul at this vision bright.
Can we not as mere mortals see some great and powerful hand?
What words can we find to describe this wondrous sight?
So I will just gaze in awe at the panoramic beauty that I see
And thank my God in heaven for giving all this to me.
