WAITING FOR RAIN
Hot and humid everywhere,
Clouds race across the sky,
Cooling a little the sticky air,

Come lower clouds so high,
So the cool rain will fall,
Refresh all those who pass by.

The trees so stately and so tall
Beckon you to quickly come,
Sending the raindrops over all.

Maybe when this day is done
And cooler night is drawing in,
That is when our battle is won,

The blowing breezes may win
With a shower of heavy rain,
Making the rain patters din,

Then cool air will flow again,
Everywhere cool once more,
Scorched earth relieved of pain.

Thunder roll and lightening flash,
Listen to the storm’s awakening crash.
