DOMINION OVER NATURE
Walking through a wooded glen, where a lake cooled the air,
And the many sounds of nature echoed softly everywhere,
I sat and rested leaning my back against an ancient tree,
It seemed at that moment the world was at peace with me.

No trauma, no worries, no fear, nothing disturbed my mind,
Perfume of the wild flowers carried on the breeze so kind,
Filled my weary soul and awakened my sad and dreary heart,
Even all the sounds around me did their great healing part.

I heard the call of the many birds, the gentle lapping of the lake,
The song sung by the breeze as the green leaves it does shake,
The sound of my beating heart, was with in tune with nature,
I became a part of birds, trees, lake and every living creature.

Who could deny at that moment, that there is a God above,
Who gave us all these creations to show us of His great love?
The Master of the universe, our great God and Eternal King,
Us as humans were given power and dominion over everything.

As I walked home and the warm sun sank far away in the west,
One by one, as the daylight faded and was slowly going to rest,
The stars came out so bright, across the vast expanse of sky,
I marvelled at the beauty that can come to view to a human eye.

Someone said, years ago, that if we really love our God above,
All His creations that nature offers we will also truly love,
They go hand in hand, inseparable that feeling should be,
For all of God’s creations are made, like us for eternity.

Then I stopped to see the destruction caused by the greed of man,
How have we used the agency and dominion, part of God’s plan,
In this world of ours treated, beast, fish, earth, trees and flower?
Have we as God’s children reverently and carefully used our power?
