TORRENTS OF RAIN
Watching the torrents of rain
Charge at my window pane,
As if asking me to be let in,
Making such a terrible din.
Softer now the rain falls
You can hear the birdcalls,
Rejoicing at the sign of spring,
No wonder they all gladly sing.
Now the rain at last has ceased
Earth bathed ready for the feast
Of springs gifts freely given,
Now look, a rainbow in heaven
Flower buds, blades of grass,
How quickly winter does pass,
The last of snow gone away,
Warmth returning day by day.
