ALONG LAKESHORE
Most places that have a lake have a Lakeshore something
Lakeshore Road, Street, Avenue, Circle or Boulevard.
In the mind springs lakes, lovely trees, birds that sing,
A great dream for some is to have the lake in your backyard.

It does not matter what size the lake or where it may be,
In a great big city or a small town or village hidden away,
I’ve lived on Lakeshore in quiet pristine, wild beauty
And in the big city where there is traffic night and day.

But both as you walk or drive a view of the lake you see
In between houses and trees, a hint of blue or dull grey,
Even hear the waves crashing when the wind blows in fury,
It all depends on the wind and the weather on a certain day.

The call of t he loon on a small lake when the night is still,
The rustle of grass as some animal come to take a drink,
Watching the sunset over that lake sitting by your window sill,
Or walk to fish and soon have fresh fish in the kitchen sink.

Then there are big lakes where you cannot see the other side
And there is a small tide and the waves can roar like the sea
On days when the wind blows and the sun behind clouds hide,
I love to feel the power, when the lake is as rough as can be.

All size lakes have beaches where many sit or plan in the sand,
And folks relax, cheap dose of medicine at the end of the day,
Although I love the high mountains that are so tall and grand,
Just give me a lake of any size just to watch nature at play.
