WAS I NEAR
If I make it to heaven, I’ll ask Joseph our prophet dear,
If as I wander through the Grove, was I ever very near
The place where he beheld Heavenly Father and His son,
Did I pass close by before my sacred walk was all done?

All through the Sacred Grove the spirit is so very strong,
No matter what the season whether quiet or full of song,
Even when the Grove is covered in pristine, white snow,
Bare branches swaying, allowing cold bright sun to show.

I have wandered in the summer time and in the fall too,
And every time I go the spirit comes flooding through,
To me it does not matter where the sweet vision was seen,
For I am truly blessed for to the Sacred Grove I’ve been.

But when I do see Joseph I will ask how close I did come
To that spot where Heavenly Father and Jesus glory shone,
Then I hope he will point out saying “See, just right there,
That is the place They answered my humble prayer.
