THANK YOU FOR THE RHUBARB
Going for a pleasant walk just the other day,
We saw a big patch of rhubarb as we went our way,
Being rhubarb lovers we could not go past
Without knocking and making a polite request,
May we have some rhubarb as tasty as can be?
The lady smiled and said help yourself for free.
Next day we took some, a lovely, special treat
Nice long, thick stems with plenty of meat.
So thank you good neighbour for sharing your harvest
Of delicious rhubarb that tastes by far the best,
Stewed rhubarb, some also left over for pies
Mixed with apple each mouthful a surprise.
Here is a small gift we would like with you to share
And if at any time you need anything we will be there.
