GRADUATING

Hold your heads up high, each young friend,
You have worked hard, accomplished your goal,
Have broadened your vision, enlarged your soul,
But this is just the beginning and not the end.

Continue to study and learn every single day,
Make reading the scriptures a big part in your life,
Pray often for guidance, remember that some strife
Is needed to strengthen you along your life’s way.

Remember lessons learned, the friendships you made,
Efforts made by others so you could complete the task,
As on this graduation day you rightfully bask
In the bright lights of success, which I hope will never fade.

Thank God for your strength and the teachers that taught,
Thank Him for parents and the friends that you share,
Thank Him for the freedom that is ours, a gift so fair,
If we don’t do these things your success is of naught.

Go forward today clothed in the armour of righteousness,
Say an encouraging word so others will carry on,
Remember the knowledge hard gained and won,
As forward and upward you heavenward press.
