TALKING TO THE PLANTS
The other day my husband heard me talking,
Not to him, but to my plants who were growing,
Some new cuttings and therefore need extra care,
He thought me strange I think because of his stare.
I always talk to my plants, it really helps them grow
And I leave on pleasant music when out we go,
I do not have a green thumb so need all the help I can
And treating them as people is part of my little plan.
I tell them they are pretty, or that they have a new leaf,
Let them know my great joys and also of my grief,
Turn them around every now and then for another view,
Then they can see things different, see something new.
I am sure plants have feelings, need to feel goodness and love,
Need to be chatted to, and kindly handled with a kid glove,
Those new cuttings of mine are growing so very well,
I am sure its because I talk to them and in love dwell.
I dont mind if some people laugh or smile at me,
Or glance in a way that they think Im a little crazy,
Ill talk away to my plants at least twice a day
And play growing music while we are away.
