HE CAME NORTH.

When our hearts were down and low
nd all we loved were far away,
Philip came to these lands unknown,
To new beauty, where fox and bear roam.

He brought us joy and happiness,
Just as he did when he was born,
His good humour and funny tales
And cheerfulness that never fails.

He has a job at the hardware store.
He drives when we have far to go,
He walks through the forests thick
And green, usually carrying a stick,

Not for defence against man you see
But to ward off lynx, or other wild beast.
He loves to pick the wild berries sweet
And bring them home for a special treat.

It is good to have him living here with us,
He eats what’re we give him, never any fuss.
He washes the dishes, often cooks a meal.
Comes to church and sings with great zeal.

Thank you Philip for coming north to live
In this vast wilderness of rock and tree.
Where friends are few and there is little to do,
But stay home with parents who love you to.
