FOR BRIAN

There is no place in this world so wide
That I could be happy without you.
There is no pastime that I could do
That would make me happy without you.
There is no pleasure or rapture sweet
That would bring me joy without you.

For there in my heart you live and dwell
As our two hearts beat as one living thing,
Words seem feeble, even trite as I try to tell
Of my love for you and the joy you bring
Knowing that you care and our love is real
So real that it seems tangible enough to feel.

My tender heart needs your gentle kindly ways
Needs to see that love light in you caring eyes,
Needs to feels a warm strong arm on cold days
And hear the sweetness of your loving sighs.
Parting even for a little time causes me some pain
And I long to see you and be near you once again.

I will love you while I have the strength to live,
Then carry on through endless days of eternal bliss.
I will love and will strive constantly my dear, to give
All the things you need in life, from a tender kiss
To all the gifts and special care a good wife can do
For a husband who is as wonderful and caring as you.
