A ROAMING HEART.
I have a roaming heart, I do not like to stay
In one place very long, I have to move away.
There seems no bond strong enough me to keep
Me safely settled in, soon my heart begins to weep,
For I must be off a roaming, new things to see,
Goodness knows what will befall a wanderer like me.
I’ve sailed the seven seas, climbed mountains high,
Been on fast steam trains, the world rushing by.
One day I may become tired of my roaming ways,
I may find a perfect spot, there stay to end my days,
But at this moment the roaming fever is very strong
And I must go on wandering, find where I belong,
Is there a place in this world so wide for a soul like me?
Or will I be blessed or cursed to wander through eternity?
