A FIRM FOUNDATION FOR YOUR HOME
On what type of foundation is your home built?
Is it one of love and trust, or falling apart with guilt?
Are the spiritual stones held together with love?
Or does contention reign? Not like heaven above?

Is the television blaring hour after useless hour?
Or could your child recognize bird or flower
That is such a part of this wonderful life?
Or if the box is turned off, does it cause strife?

Are good books on your library shelf found?
Does the music you play make a healthy joyful sound?
Would you run and hide book and magazine
If the Saviour did call, or could they be seen?

How long would you last if the stores closed down?
Could you stay clothed and fed, or would you frown
And say “ This should not happen to me, I had not time
To put goods away, exept for a few things of mine.

Build the foundation firm, build it to last,
Learn from the errors you’ve made in the past,
Seek out each building block make it strong,
Soon it will not matter if everything goes wrong.
