PHOTOGRAPHS
Looking through some albums
Of photos of the past,
Of old departed relatives
You wonder how long theyll last.
Most of them taken in sepia
Before he days if black and white,
All are stiff and unsmiling,
Holding still with all their might.
Then came black and white
And a camera of your own.
You did not have to sit so still,
Took it along when you left home.
Then came all the colours
With a flash and fancy things
To make everyone a professional,
Even take birds on outstretched wings.
Pictures taken on holidays
bring the memories back,
Yet which year were they taken?
For information they all lack.
Make some special projects
On some cold winter nights
To go through the old photos
And set everything to rights.
Just think back and remember
When you took that sunset,
Where you were and when,
Before you really forget.
Make it a family project
Let everyone join the fun,
Laugh at all the pictures
And youll soon have it done.
For when you have departed
From this mortal life
Who will be there to remember
Whos the husband of whos wife!
