        CLEAN KITCHEN FLOOR
After decorating the kitchen the floor looked a mess,
Removing paint blobs and mopping, I confess
Was not enough to remove all the dirt and grime,
I wanted my kitchen floor to really brightly shine.

Two sweepings, a mopping then on hands and knees,
Rubbing and scrubbing hard, the task was no breeze,
Then to finish and to make sure that no dirt was found,
With polish and cloth till the floor made a squeaky sound.

I wiped a clean towel over the whole of the kitchen floor,
From under the window through to the diningroom door,
When I looked at the towel it looked almost as clean as new,
So I knew my kitchen floor was clean through and through.

Just a little while later when I started to bake and cook,
At my sparkling floor, I dare not take a too closer look,
Brown sugar, flour, chopped nuts and a peeling or two,
By the end of the day no one will know what I went through.

But a sweep and a mopping then on hands and knees again
Will restore the floor to clean without too much pain,
But it would be nice for the kitchen floor to stay quite clean
For more than an hour and more than me true clean seen.
