        HIS FAVOURITE TOY
It may have been a baseball bat or mitt,
An old hockey stick and a puck to hit,
A special fishing rod and a fancy lure,
But now child, it’s you he does adore.

You maybe a girl or a brand new baby boy,
Whichever you are, you are his pride and joy,
His mind is now preoccupied by different toys,
The ones that are loved by little girls and boys.

A proud father with a child held in his arms,
Is a picture that to me is full of sweet charms,
A man making baby noises seems eight feet tall
And as with a toddler on all fours will crawl.

Yes, when a child comes into a loving home
Neither parent far want to ever really roam,
Less important is the hocky or baseball game,
A child is now here to stay, nothing is ever the same.
