IT TAKES TIME
It is done by good example, done by not being a nag,
Done by loving kindness, not letting your testimony sag,
We should never forget that all have their agency,
They may think they are right, that we should always see.
It could take a lifetime or in the life to come,
Before your loved ones heart to the truth is won.
Never miss an opportunity to mention a church activity,
Ask them to join in the fun, see how happy Mormons can be,
Never miss a blessing on the food or prayers being said,
They may kneel beside you one night before getting into bed.
It’s hard but strengthening striving to go it alone,
Especially for the children as two sides, both good, are shown.
Yet if your spouse is a good person and loves you true,
Although it may take time something will get through,
Someone outside the home may say just the right thing,
Then baptism will follow and eternal joy bring.
But the family who are members must always be
That example everyday and pray on bended knee.
But if you try and show what the gospel is all about,
One day they will join, of that I have no doubt.
