FOR DEAR OLD SISTER SUE
(Old as a term of endearment, not age)
A five mile run for a worthwhile charity
Thought Sue, that’s just right for me,
Friends thought she was going crazy,
But her plans were firm, not one bit hazy.

Get in shape, walk here and hurry there,
The dog gets longer walks in the fresh air,
Soon that big racing day will at last come,
Then the great battle will have begun.

I wish we could have watched and cheered
As the starting line was eventually cleared,
A long five mile run is no mean feat,
I hope many loud cheers they did all meet.

Dear old sister Sue went and really did it,
Made it all that long way, every whit
Of ground covered, we say well done,
A great goal and money for charity won.
