A CHILDS PRAYER
I heard my child praying by her bed last night,
And please help mommy and daddy not to fight,
I love them so and when they yell I hurt deep inside
And sometimes my tears just I cannot really hide.
She stood up and kissed our wedding picture by her bed,
Then she sighed as she lay down her young wise head.
As I crept down the stairs I cried as I went down again,
What had we done to cause our child that much pain?
We talked long into that night my spouse and I
Explained how we make our sweet daughter cry,
Told of her prayer for us crying on bended knee,
Then kissing our wedding picture, loving as can be.
We promised each other we would try from then on
To be kind and thoughtful, find our love that was gone.
Thank God for a childs sweet caring faithful prayer,
Letting us know of each other how much we should care.
