GRANDMA REMEMBERING
Come Grandma,
come and run through the meadow with me,
Lets count the flowers,
catch the wind then go to the swing on the tree.
Grandma came,
they went hand in hand to the flowering meadow.
They chased the wind
together for awhile, grandma sat in the trees shadow
As the child chased
on, never tiring, they then picked some flowers,
That lovely day was
filled with so many happy, carefree hours,
The child laughed
as grandma pushed her on the swing
Higher grandma,
higher the child cried and her heart did sing.
The sun was sinking
in the multicoloured western sky,
The song birds
homeward to nests in many flocks did fly.
Hand in hand
the two playmates went, the child prancing,
The grandma
with eyes bright with tears just remembering.
