SEEK AND YE SHALL FIND
When my ring was lost, sad tears did flow,
For it was part of me wherever I did go,
To find it gone off my finger broke my heart,
It seemed a hopeless task, but Id do my part.
I did not know where to look, it could be anywhere,
I looked all over the floor, even on every stair.
It was not on the kitchen counters or the easy chair,
Not in the bathroom where I washed and did my hair.
The day went on, I thought where my ring could be,
I dare not vacuum in case my ring I did not see,
Then never found, lost in dust and dirt that ring of mine,
I stripped the bed, checked washer and dryer in vain.
Then last night I knelt to pray, for the good day I had,
Just one more look by the bed, then my heart was glad,
For there, where I am sure I had looked twice before,
Was my precious ring, the one given me by the one I adore.
So never give up hope, even when all hope seems gone,
Keep on looking, searching for that important lost one,
It may be a ring from a finger, or a long lost soul you know,
For oh, the rejoicing with the lost you homeward go.
