PHOTOGRAPHS ON THE WALL
In our livingroom hung on the longest wall
Are many photographs, some big, some small,
Family members of both sides of the family tree,
Everyone passes comment when the sight they see.
There are those who are newly born on display,
Pictures of the children taken on photograph day,
Others when we were small, they cause many a smile
And bring back many memories for a little while.
Then other photos are old, done in sepia and very proper,
No one dared to smile, and they had to save every copper
To stand as still as stone nor daring to blink an eye,
But how tall and proud they stood in days gone by.
I love our family gallery all hanging on the wall,
Maybe five generations if we count them all,
Each has their own space on our large family tree,
For families are together forever and always shall be.
