More poems about Beauty Spots

        A GREAT LOSS
There is a pleasant valley midst forests thick and green,
With a slow meandering river can be quite clearly seen,
Wild life in abundance roams peacefully around at will,
There is one narrow walking path for access down the hill.

Walking through the scent of pine and all the wild flowers
Fills you with delight, hear birds singing in the leafy bowers,
Then, entering the valley is like treading on holy ground,
For there is a special hushed, deep stillness to be found.

Many times we found this place and always did enjoy
The peace and tranquillity no human sounds to annoy,
But one day we stopped this favourite spot to go and see,
When we saw a sign that brought much pain and misery.

‘New homes for sale with a large grand riverside lot’,
And soon there was no sign at all of our beauty spot
No sloping hills of forests, no wild creatures ever seen,
How my heart ached for my deep pain was very keen.
