WOULD MY PRAYERS BE DIFFERENT
Would my prayers be different if Jesus were by my side?
Would I be more sincere, more humble, show less pride?
Pray more for others and much more gratitude truly show,
Maybe the good intents of my heart quietly get to know.
I thought, last night, that my prayers I should improve,
All clockwork trite phrases begin to slowly remove,
But then I thought once again these things I need to say
So I will just try and put them in a new or different way.
I know that deity listens somehow to every little prayer
And know of our needs before they are spoken there,
It’s up to me to say prayers so they are worth listening to
And the God and His Son I love wont leave part way through.
I hope that Jesus is by my side when my prayers are said,
Both when I awake from sleep and when I lay down my head,
Also those quick ones when gratitude or needs come my way,
For I try my very best to keep a prayer in my heart all day.
