VISIONS OF BEAUTY
Standing in the sunshine feeling the sun on my back,
Gazing out at the beauty all around nothing did it lack,
The whole world seemed at peace, no conflict anywhere,
The sinking sun had given her best all day, warming the air.
The winter of this days short life ended in a blaze of glory,
The sun donning her best gown like in some fairy story,
A glimmer of red kissed the trees with a precious embrace
Then slowly one by one stars and moon showed their grace.
The canopy of dark velvet that turned the day to restful night
Was soft and gentle, very clear and full of peace and delight,
Nothing to mar the lake as stars and moon saw their reflection,
To our human eyes it was a vision of indescribable perfection.
