HAVE YOU EVER BEEN SWORN AT BY A CAT?
I must ask this question of you because it has happened to me,
Have you ever been sworn at by a cat that lives here for free,
With many grumbling meows and a glare in blue eyes to kill?
If you have to disturb her and go against her majestys will.
Last night in bed I read awhile and asleep next to me was she,
All cozy and purring between our two bodies wanted to be,
I went to settle down to rest when the chapter was complete,
You should have heard fuss she made with a growl deep.
Earlier watching the ball game she came and sat on my knee
Wanting her ears rubbed and also being stroked continually,
She began to kneed with sweet content her joy to kindly show,
But when I moved those furry feet, and off swearing she did go.
The other day she lay in the sun on a patch cozy and warm,
Of course it slowly moved away she looked at me with scorn,
She once again used bad cat language although not my fault
And I warned her I could speak cat and of using bad words halt.
But she turned up her nose and told me in no uncertain terms
That she was queen of this place and to go and eat warms.
No food today I said to try and put her in her right place,
But who can refuse a cat food with that look upon its face.
