More poems about Spring.
AWAKE
We sat out on the veranda in the pleasant sun
looking at the lovely view,
The warming rays refreshed us and did energy
and strength renew,
The buds were busting on the trees, the whole
earth seemed to rejoice,
At least the chorus the birds sang of their
happiness did give voice.
The wind also sang a sweet song in the tall
swaying trees
And the laughter of children came across
on the breeze.
The sounds seemed to bid the earth to arise
and become awake,
No longer slumber but greet spring in her loveliness
and sweet grace.
