        HOW MUCH DISCIPLINE
How much discipline should we use on each child?
A very good question, no one should be defiled
Or talked down to, abused or hurt in any way
And a wise friend said this that brightened my day.

Never discipline more than the balm of Gilead you own
Stop and choose words as though Father was in the home,
Look into the child’s eyes see the love and maybe fear,
Let the balm of Gilead flow as discipline he does hear.

They need to learn between good and bad, right and wrong,
But do not destroy the light that in a child burns so strong,
By running out of balm when discipline and anger meet,
Remember the saviour how all people He did kindly treat.
