ONION SKINS
At the moment, with onion skins, Im having a fight,
They seem to creep onto the floor both day and night,
Yesterday I swept the floor and washed it nice and clean,
Put everything away and there an onion skin was seen.
I had cleared the shelf where the onions live, none seen,
I looked and there was another pile, where had they been
Hiding when I tidied and swept all the dirt and grime away?
Do you know what! It happened five times that very day.
Now last night the kitchen was all so tidy and nice and clean,
And I looked all around it with a big bright happy gleam,
No dishes in the sink and no onions skins anywhere on the floor,
But this morning there were three skins sitting by the back door.
Is there some magic in those pesky onions that I like to cook?
The big bag once more I grabbed to see legs as I did look,
No just another pile of skins floated around everywhere
Maybe they just want to be kind, their dry skin want to share.
I dont like onions in the fridge they taste better when warm,
But if they keep on shedding skins they may come to harm,
Its no use threatening them, they always land up in pan or pot,
But in my utter frustration I thought it may be worth a shot.
