THANK YOU FOR THE BREAD MAKER
Thank you for the bread maker, a wonderful Christmas gift,
We hardly buy any bread now and it gives us such a lift
To eat toast and bread that is pure and homemade as well,
If we are not careful we’ll put on weight as we start to swell.
We have tried it plain and also with an added egg or two,
They both taste good, the egg makes it better right through,
We were told that ordinary flour works as well as anything
So we tried it once, and, oh, the smell and taste it does bring.
So three times last week we made some regular bread,
Yesterday I tried one with the good taste of an egg,
The only one disadvantage that I can possibly see
That I can take no credit for the goodies in front of me.
So thanks for the gift so kindly given on Christmas day,
When you visit lots of new bread will come your way,
So far we are the only two who have eaten the bread,
But when visitors somehow with bread they will be fed.
