FOR MY DEAR
DAD
For our friend Julie Friar
Dear dad, I will miss you and so will very
many more
No longer see your smiling face as you came
through the door.
I’ll miss those bright eyes that dance with
such jollity,
And my life will feel all strange and very
cold and empty.
I was there to see you as you passed from
this mortal life,
Now you are free from all worldly trouble
and strife.
Maybe you wanted to be with mum for
Christmas day,
Even if it meant you going to heaven, too
far away
For us to come and visit but I know you will
be happy there.
Free from all pain and worry full of joy
beyond compare.
I will still make a toast to the world’s
best dad,
And all will do our best not to be so
very sad.
