More poems about Food.

GROUND MEAT
When all the children were small, all fast growing,
Feeding them was hard while healthy food bestowing,
Meat was loved by all and fish they ate with glee
Some vegies were fine save for spinach and peas.

To make the budget stretch lean ground beef was used,
And everything I made with it was never ever refused,
With pork chops and lamb and a roast very infrequently,
Ground beef recipes became our main course stability.

Do you know how many ways you can do ground beef?
Our list seemed neve ending, but meat loaf was chief,
For all the children although I liked my sloppy Joe,
And Salisbury stake was always very fast to go.

Shepherds pie and cabbage rolls, well spread out
The ground beef was a god send without a doubt,
Casseroles and stuffed peppers, meatballs as well
We were always happy and well fed you can tell.

There are ways I have not mentioned to do ground meat
For pork and chicken are also that way good to eat,
Let’s not limit the ground meat to one or two things
But seek out and find many uses for food it brings.
