CHRISTMAS CARDS
There’s hundreds of Christmas cards as I look outside,
Scenes of winter beauty as I gaze out far and wide,
Snow covered roof tops just sparkling in the sun
And the rocks, lake and trees white mantles have won.

Yesterday we had a snowfall consistent as can be,
Getting around was not to bad for there was no fury
In the snowfall, gentle and quite, gently picturesque,
Almost coming like a very welcome Christmas guest.

Now it will stay, more will fall, snow on still white snow,
The need to wrap up warm wherever you may need to go,
But at night how those lights gleam like jewels everywhere,
There is also a feeling of peace that floats across the cold air.
