More poems about Food.

        NOT SO GOOD FOOD
There’s only one thing I enjoy from one fast food place
It’s the egg McMuffin that can put a smile on my face,
Yet today I had one and it seemed to have lost it’s charm,
And I am sure the high cholesterol could do permanent harm.

Maybe I am getting wiser now I’m getting on in years,
Want to be sensible so hope to calms worries and fears,
Salads, fruit, lots of fish and of cause mainly white meat
But every now and then eat out for a rich special treat.

Shrimp is my favourite, sweet crab and lobster too
All much too rich for old folks to try and work through,
Exercise afterward rather than curl up and go to sleep,
A few walks round the block, then half dead homeward creep.

Clam chowder made with cream is another favourite of mine,
All fat gooey things that always seem to taste so utterly divine,
Now it’s almost Christmas and I like to try and always make
Lots of shortbread with butter, Christmas pudding and fruit cake.

I never eat a lot of anything so weight is not an issue here
It is the build up of the cholesterol that makes my heart do queer,
Oh, I forgot a family must on any occasion that we can find
A big English trifle, that thought often come much too near.
