RED AND GOLD
Considering the great beauty of the fall,
Which of the colours do I like most of all?
Is it the vibrant reds of the great maple tree,
Or the glowing golds and yellows that we see?
There are a few maples in this northern clime
But not as profuse as the south, but that is fine,
Theres an abundance of golds and yellows bright
That glitter in beauty when the sun shines her light.
They still glow in loveliness when it does not shine,
A brilliant contrast to the ever green graceful pine,
Look across the valley to the ridge on the other side
And the grandeur and the beauty no one can hide.
Although the reds en masse are a magnificent sight to see
I think that the yellows and golds compare very favourably,
As I gaze in awe at falls bounteous, powerful loveliness,
Its the yellow and golds in dark green my life does bless.
