        I’LL SING YOU A SONG
I’ll sing you a song of some wayside road
Which I used to walk many hours along,
Songs of the birds and the trees the view ahead,
And sometimes a hedgerow where to lay my head.
Summer days spent beneath many a different sky,
Yes, singing a song of the wayside as I passed by.

I’ll sing you a song of the sea, it’s turbulent waves
Singing a song of it’s own calling to me, it says
Come down and sail on these billows of mine,
Hear the song the wind sings as it does whine,
Any time of the year spent by the coaxing sea
Brings many songs returning willingly to me.

I’ll sing you a song of a pleasing home, sweet home,
A place of love to return to after a long far off roam,
Where songs of happiness and joy flow fast and free,
Fill everyone’s heart with sweet caring and great jollity,
There’ll always be a welcome at any good home’s door,
And I’ll sing songs of love that will last now and evermore.

I’ll sing a song of my Saviour, my loving Master and king,
Praise Him with words from my voice and heart, joy to bring,
His bounteous gifts flow to me, given with love and so free,
Song of gratitude, songs of deep repentance and then to be
Held in His arms like some wounded child to be healed.
I’ll sing songs that my feeble voice can no longer yield.

As long as I live I hope my heart at least can sing with love,
To reach the great courts in eternal heaven up above.
Let heaven’s rafters echo the chorus that is in my heart,
Glory Halleluiah! Sing and so do my infinitesimal part
To show my love with grateful songs of praise eternally,
Then sing as He comes to reign in all His great glory.
