A PICKEREL DINNER
Pickerel is a delicate fish and not
common at all,
To have a pile of chips with it would send
me up the wall,
It’s a fine rice or gentle mashed potatoes
that you need
To share a plate with pickerel to keep up with
the breed.
On it’s own is fine, or vegetables that will
enhance the dish,
In fact anything they place on a plate with
this incredible fish
Would feel it a privilege an honoured
guest to share
The short life left to them as the food is eaten
with great care.
So please do not ask for chips when pickerel
does lie
On your plate, if it were not dead it would
curl up and die.
